GET YOUR TEAM COMMITTED TO
PLANET, INCLUSION AND ADVENTURE WITH A PRIVATE OUTDOORIST OATH WORKSHOP!

What is The Oath Workshop?

The Oath workshop*
is a ZERO-BS experience that teaches a model to approach allyship
for planet, inclusion, adventure.

WHY A PRIVATE WORKSHOP?

If you are looking to devise or implement inclusion or sustainability initiatives in your company, our framework will facilitate creative unique solutions from all perspectives of the workplace.

Private workshops are customized to focus on your company/org/brand priorities. We also focus on workplace actions vs personal life actions.
Tho, trust us, it will serve for BOTH <3. We can also expand the workshop to allow for breakout rooms or more in-depth content - depending on your vision and needs.

PLUS if you commit to the Oath as a company, you’ll find a renewed sense of community harnessed by the power of changemaking together. (And yes, you’ll look super cool; even if you don’t tell anyone about it).

WORKSHOP CONTENTS

  • OUR SHARED ECOSYSTEMS

We’ll lay out a map and describe WHY and HOW our driving ecosystems to take action are Planet, Inclusion, and Adventure (PIA).

  • ACTION COMPASS

Next, we’ll go through a reflection tool we call The Action Compass. This will help you create your unique plan of action for PIA.

  • WAYFINDING

We’ll look at Nature as our guide and teacher. How can we move through this work like nature itself? Rivers, mushrooms, and fire provide us guidance.

  • THE OATH

In conclusion to all of the above, everyone is invited to join us in a virtual ceremony where we make it official and together take The Outdoorist Oath.

During the workshop, participants reflect and learn tools to create a unique plan to take action for Planet, Inclusion, and Adventure.

After the workshop, everyone has the opportunity to take The Outdoorist Oath and be an extra official part of our growing (good) Troublemakers community!

Happy Clients

What they say…

  • "The Oath was an essential tie-in to our time together [at the Clif Athlete Summit]. The session left our participants feeling connected to the environment we shared and encouraged to do as much as they can to help keep the outdoors prosperous and accessible for generations to come.”

Costa Andraly, Talent Strategy Manager, Clif Bar & Company

  • "We now have the tools to become change making troublemakers 🙂. We loved how interactive the workshop was and how comfortable of a space you made it."

Elena Shaw - St Lawrence University Outing Club

  • "Gabbacia and the Outdoorish Oath are doing incredible work. Their workshop touches on the fundamentals of our climate movement and identity, how we experience the outdoors, and calls for radical change from within to further comprehend what needs to be done for our Mother Nature restoration, protection, and care."

Tony Perez Soto, 1% For The Planet

COMMITMENT INVITATIONS

  • PLANET

COMMITMENT 1: I acknowledge that climate change is real and this planet needs allies. Therefore, I will take action for our planet and advocate for environmental justice.

  • INCLUSION

COMMITMENT 2: I acknowledge that systemic and historic oppression is real and that hatred, discrimination, and biases marginalize people. I will actively work to ally all people in the outdoor community.

  • ADVENTURE

COMMITMENT 3: I acknowledge adventure looks and feels different for everyone. I will support a connection to the outdoors for everyone beyond what adventure means to me.

Facilitators

Our facilitators crew brings to the Oath Workshops a diversity of experiences and perspectives that create an abundance of possibilities for the community.

We all look forward to learning and unlearning together. Learn more about each of them here.

Workshop Materials

The workshop is best experienced through a screen large enough folks feel comfortable accessing a slideshow. We highly suggest accessing via a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.

We also recommend people have a way of taking notes ready at the top of the workshop. We have created a Digital Workbook which we share before and during the workshop. Having access to a free Gmail account or Word Processor is best for using our workbook.

Having access to a smartphone helps for some interactive portions of the workshop, but these can be accessed from a computer as well.
