From Capitol Hill to The Black Hills
What happens in Washington D.C. affects the whole world; our elected officials are passing (and slashing) legislation that has a direct impact on the future of our environment, our public parks, and our health.
The upcoming midterm elections are a vitally important opportunity to use your vote to advocate for Planet, Inclusion, and Adventure. These voting resources are aimed at combating voter suppression, increasing awareness of the issues at stake, and (most importantly) helping you stay informed about the upcoming election season.
Equality PAC - Promoting Rights for LGBTQ+ Americans 🔗
It’s no secret that Queer and Trans rights are being threatened by new legislation. The Equality PAC is a Political Action Committee (PAC) that pools funds to help elect LGBTQ+ officials and strong allies who will stand by Queer rights, even when it’s difficult. On their website, you can view their endorsed candidates and donate to their campaigns.
Track AIPAC - Help Gaza and Help the Earth 🔗
What’s happening in Gaza isn’t only an issue of human life - it’s an issue of global health. Since last year, Israel’s relentless bombing of Gaza has produced over 31 million tons of C02 emissions, which exceeded the emissions produced by one hundred individual countries. The resources on Track AIPAC’s website can identify candidates and officials who have received money from AIPAC (a pro-Israel PAC) and also contain a list of endorsed candidates who stand against genocide.
The Wilderness Action Society Fund 🔗
The WASF is tackling three intersecting crises: climate change, biodiversity loss, and inequitable access to the outdoors. They are dedicated to making public lands part of the solution to climate change and championing the fight to keep public land just that: public! On their website, you can sign up for their newsletter to stay informed about ongoing issues that affect public land, donate to their cause, and register to vote.
